What does human rights mean to you?

The year 2020 is going down in history as monumental and those of us existing here now have never experienced what we’ve had to endure this year. This year Covid -19 takes the crown as an official Master Teacher here to teach important lessons on life, quality of life and human rights. It has literally taken over the world by accessing and exposing all governments and taking lives without regard for repercussions or discipline.

No one not even the great powers of the world can escape Covid-19, whether friend or foe. The U.S. previously referred to as the land of milk and honey is in a state of disaster needing immediate relief. Smaller nation’s led by corrupt and rich dictators will be on their knees in desperation for cover up. It’s almost a phenomenon if there weren’t previous viruses already on the books for wreaking havoc and also attempting to teach humanity lessons in existence, but Covid literally went viral! Get out the way social media influencers you aint got nothing on this. What’s even more impressive than the literal numbers are the influence on the human race. It has caused us to examine, reexamine and then examine again what the hell we are doing here and how vulnerable it is to be human at this time.

The most vulnerable populations need protection from poverty, corruption and death as corruption and bad governance sucks out all the resources, opportunities, hopes, dreams and aspirations we once possessed as human beings on this planet. I would gamble to say that we are all getting a dose of what it’s like to be vulnerable and marginalized at this time; no human is safe. We are experiencing a human rights crisis on Earth and our awareness and ability to do something about it is crucial.

Covid-19 is kicking ass and taking numbers but we’ve had other teachers as well. Dare we mention the uprising of Trump and Trumpism as my colleague likes to refer to as the ever-growing groups of human haters. Be careful they may outlast Covid. I’ve experienced corruption first hand in the Caribbean tri-state islands of Grenada an up-close vision of a master teacher but he still doesn’t have what it takes to breakdown the whole global community. We’ve had a lot of attacks on us it’s a wonder we manage to stay alive and exist. This is a clear indicator that we’re in some trouble and our living experience is being taken away by oppression, inequity, war, poverty and bad governance.

Can we discuss our human rights with a true understanding of what they are and what they mean to us? This knowledge and understanding may be the only thing standing between us and death. How can we be protected from these gangsters? Do we have protection?

As I reflect quickly and concentrated on 2020, Old Years going and New Years coming I recognize the importance of International Human Rights Day on December 10th and what it really means to me. I urge you at this time to take a look at the Declaration of Human Rights, your fundamental rights, your divine God given rights and protective mechanisms established for moments like this when our teacher is truly a master of destruction in reality. We need protection! We need it against all the bad, money thirsty, corruption worshipping human being haters out here running our countries, societies and lives.

We do have the ability and power to end policies, behaviors and actions that don’t support our human right to live and not just the physical functions of life but the action of living.

We can start by voting against corruption and bad governance Knowing our human rights and the protections in place to defend our rights.

Closing the year 2020 when the Master Teacher Covid-19 attacked with a vengeance and bad governance reared its ugly head I remain optimistic that we can handle these attackers by learning the biggest lesson to date; we need to come together if we plan to continue to exist not just in breath but in life. Human rights are protections to secure my right to life, lessons learned in 2020.

In Solidarity
